Body, Mind and Spirit Workshop
This spring, do something good for your body, mind and spirit. Join teacher Xie Ling Welch to explore Qi Gong as a tool for healing physical ailments; balancing your energy flow; relieving aches, pains and stress; calming your mind and elevating your spirit. Xie Ling teaches a type of Qi Gong called Dao Yin Yang Sheng Gong which is based on traditional Chinese medicine and uses gentle movements to stimulate the body’s meridians and pressure points plus meditation and breath control work to bring balance to the body and mind.
Hug the Moon Wellness Studio on Harrison will offer Saturday workshops on April 6th, May 4th, and May 25th, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Each workshop will include three segments: Healing Qi Gong, Waken the Brain and Calm the Mind, and Guided Qi Gong Meditation. Note that the Healing Qi Gong segment will progress from part 1 in the first session on April 27, part 2 on May 11. Ideally, you’ll be able to join all three workshops, but you can still attend a later session if you miss the first one.
Workshop Segments:
Healing Qi Gong
A set of seated movements designed to prevent and treat many internal ailments. When practiced regularly, these movements can help to prevent and relieve problems with the digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular and urinary systems by bringing balance to those systems and creating a harmonious environment.
Waken the Brain and Calm the Mind
Learn to stimulate key acupressure points in the head and neck for relief and prevention of chronic or acute headaches; insomnia; facial muscle dysfunction (pain, numbness or abnormal nerve sensations); and ringing, pain, or sensitivity of the ears. Stimulating this set of pressure points can also improve the quality of sleep and restore brain energy for better mental function.
Guided Qi Gong Meditation
This segment will introduce eight simple Qi Gong meditation poses that can reduce your stress, manage aches and pains with ease, and help you find inner peace and contentment.
Individual Workshop Price: $30 for each workshop ($25 for students currently enrolled in classes)
Please register one week ahead of the session you wish to attend. Class size is limited so registration is on a first come, first served basis.
